Now domain names with .com, .org, .net, .in, .us is what you can't get absolutely free. Maybe you can get them free with some paid webhosting plans or something like that.
Instead there are several other domain names which can be grabbed absolutely free. This are like .co.cc, .co.nr, .tk and many more. Many of this does not exactly offer a domain name but instead a sub-domain name. For example in yourname.co.nr, nr is the TLD and co is a domain and yourname is its sub-domain. But since it does not appear as a sub-domain, so its absolutely fine.
